THE FIELD GUIDE

Gravity is your engine.

A falling counterweight turns the beam. The tip pulls a sling; its ring slides off the release finger, opening the pouch. The critter keeps the velocity it had at that instant.

  1. Build. Choose illustrated parts to fit them immediately. Your starter has a 0.48-metre ground-to-axle height and is tuned for critters up to 150 g: mouse, tree frog, and chipmunk (widen the pocket to 19 cm in Build → Sling first).
  2. Load & launch. Lift your critter above the basket and let it fall loosely inside. The basket is highlighted only with a suggestion tip. Hold the launcher button or clearing to crank the front wheel counterclockwise. Release your finger or mouse to open the latch. Wait for the full-draw chime for the starter’s best arc. A short hold makes a partial draw. The wheel freewheels clockwise as the weight falls. Keyboard: Enter assists with a drop into the basket; hold and release Space to launch. The launcher button also supports held Space or Enter.
  3. Learn. Compare distance, speed and tension. If it goes backward, try a different pin bend.
  4. Grow. Collect Bells, buy possibilities, and upgrade your tree door to welcome larger critters.

Creative mode unlocks every part and critter. Try the shop’s free deals, rerolls and parcels without spending Adventure Bells.

This is a 2D rigid-body model. The ring is an idealized sliding model, cloth is a lumped pouch, and beam overload is a simplified failure threshold. Animal masses are representative individuals, not universal species weights. It is a game and experiment, not an engineering certification.
